summer meals

Summer meals and drink pairings you’ll love.

There are only a few weeks left to soak up the sweet days of summer, and we’ve got cold cocktails and brews on the brain. Backyard barbecues, relaxed family dinners and romantic summer meals under the stars–now’s the time to opt in for quick, easy meals paired with bold, refreshing beverages.

Treat yourself this season by truly enjoying mealtime and savoring every sip. Here are a few drink pairings for you to enjoy with all the summer meals on your menu:

**The Dish: **Chicken on the Grill

When it comes to grilled chicken, we recommend keeping things light with a sweet, refreshing cocktail that packs a punch.

**The Drink: **Georgia On My Mind

  • ⅓ cup lightly packed mint leaves
  • 12 ounces bourbon
  • 4 ounces crème de pêche (peach liqueur)
  • 4 ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 2 ounces pure maple syrup
  • 24 ounces chilled apricot or peach ale
  • Ice

In a pitcher, combine all of the ingredients except the ale, ice and mint sprigs and stir until the maple syrup is dissolved. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour. Add the apricot ale to the pitcher and stir well. Pour into 8 ice-filled highball glasses and garnish with mint sprigs.

**The Dish: **A Summer Salad

Summer is truly the season of the salad. If you’re struggling to get creative in the ingredients department, we’ve got you covered. Fall in love with our Caprese Pasta Salad from this week’s menu.

**The Drink: **Ice Cold, Summer Brew

We love the idea of cracking open a crisp, summer brew with this lighter dinner option. Why not keep it local? Opt for a hoppy and bitter flavor to offset the acidity and sweetness of the salad with Terrapin Beer Co’s Rye Pale Ale. Or, if you’re craving something sweeter, 21st Amendment Brewery’s High or Hell Watermelon is a delicious summertime brew for pairing.

**The Dish: **Delicious ****Dark Meat

Whiskey can serve as an awesome accompaniment with your dark meat dishes this summer.

**The Drink: **Voya White Manhattan

  • 2oz American Spirit Whiskey
  • 1oz Dolin Blanc vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura orange bitters
  • Orange peel or twist

Combine ingredients with ice and stir. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with orange peel or lemon.

The Dish: Something Spicy

There’s something about summertime that calls for a few heat packed meals (like our South of the Border Quiche). Cool things down with this incredibly refreshing recipe.
